Award winning journalist Thomas Dodson, founder of Dodson Consultants, brings a wide range of skills, experience and accomplishments to the world of communications. Thomas began his professional career as a journalist at the number one television station in South Carolina. His love of the media and passion for communication quickly shot him up the industry ladder, vaulting him to the role of television producer in Seattle, the country’s 12th largest television market. Thomas was a key team member of newscasts that won local and national Emmy awards, as well as the highly respected Edward R. Murrow award.
Thomas shifted media and moved to California, joining Comstock’s magazine as Associate Editor. While at Comstock’s, Thomas created and managed the magazine’s monthly special sections. Not only did this expose Thomas to more in-depth writing and reporting, it put him on a first name basis with some of the most prominent business and political leaders in Northern California.
In 2006, with more than a decade of media experience, Thomas moved to the other side of the fence and joined the architecture and community planning firm BSB Design as Manager of Public Relations. Thomas created and managed the company’s public relations campaign for the western U.S. and key international markets. Along with generating local, regional, national and international exposure for his firm, Thomas also reinvented the company's approach to business development, coaching offices across the country on the best ways to use both technology and personal relationships to increase their programs. In 2008, Thomas helped BSB Design win an international trade award from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Shortly thereafter, in the summer of 2008, Thomas created Dodson Consultants. The press immediately latched on to the company's creation, setting off a flurry in Northern California.
